Networks
Your address space decides inbound, outbound and transit, which hosts are yours, and what Heimnull may mitigate.
Configure → Networks is the address space that’s yours, as CIDR prefixes with a comment. IPv4 and IPv6.
What it decides
Section titled “What it decides”| Source in your networks | Destination in your networks | Direction | Your side |
|---|---|---|---|
| No | Yes | Inbound | The destination |
| Yes | No | Outbound | The source |
| Yes | Yes | Internal | The destination |
| No | No | Transit | None |
- Transit traffic has no side that’s yours: it isn’t counted inbound or outbound, and no host’s detection sees it, unless the interface roles place it (entering on a Transit or Peering interface makes it inbound).
- Mitigation only ever covers addresses inside your networks: Heimnull refuses any blackhole or FlowSpec rule for an address outside them.
- Licensing meters inbound and outbound traffic. Traffic Heimnull can’t place counts in both directions, so an empty list never lowers the metered rate.
Add private space (RFC 1918, CGNAT 100.64.0.0/10, IPv6 ULA) if those hosts are yours and you want them on host pages. The page marks such ranges.
Possibly missing networks
Section titled “Possibly missing networks”This list shows the busiest address space that arrives through a Transit or Peering interface but isn’t in your networks: usually a prefix you forgot to add. Add the ones that are yours.
